It is hard to believe that it is the start of Spring Semester already. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was moving in. This semester I am taking 13 credit hours including History 211, Emergence of the Modern World II, Chemistry 112, Tennis, and Concepts of Wellness. I hope that Chemistry will be easier this semester than it was last semester. But Dr. Zook seems like a really nice professor, so things seem to be looking up.

It is almost the end of the first semester and I have survived The final week of classes are next week, followed by semester exams. Most of my exams should be pretty easy. My biology and history exams are not cumulative, while humanities and chemistry are. The only exam that should give me any trouble is chemistry. Although, one plus is that the test itself is multiple choice. I hope that the next two weeks pass quickly and then it will be time for Christmas break!

Dive Trip Cancelled!!

My dive trip to Mount Storm was cancelled! We were about thirty minutes into the trip when the instructor called and said that the water would be too cold to dive in. This is so disappointing. I guess that means that I will be here this weekend. Oh well, I had some chemistry homework to do anyhow.

Spring Semester

The end of the semester is almost here and it is time to schedule classes again! I just met with my first year seminar adviser who helped me choose my new classes for the spring semester. I am taking Chemistry 112, Vertebrate Natural History, a Forensic Biology lab, Speech and communications, as well as master pieces of literature. Next semester is most likely going to mean lots of work but thats okay.

I am leaving today for my first open water SCUBA diving trip in Mount Storm, West Virgina. I will be there all weekend and return to Muskingum on Sunday. I’ll see everyone when I get back.

Weekends are too short!

The weekend is over and classes begin again on Monday. Although, there is only about a month left until Thanksgiving! More tests in chemistry and history this week. Dr. Burke tests are not hard but he does require a fair amount of detail on the essays. Fortunately, he has open office hours on the day prior to the test for any questions. I always go and it actually helps me a lot.

I just got back from an RHA meeting and Dial-a-Dog has just been pushed back to November 20th. Although, this will actually be better because it is on a Monday, and more people will buy hot-dogs while watching football. On a different note, I passed the first test in my EMT class. (I am becoming a volunteer firefighter for the village of New Concord) I guess, I better get back and finish my chem. lab report… it is not going to be very much fun.

Fall Break Activities

Well, it feels good to be back on campus after fall break… although it was way too short! There is no Chem. lab this week which is a definite plus. My room mate and I signed up to take firefighting classes with the New Concord Fire Department. Our first class is tonight and it lasts until 10:00p.m. So I better get started on my homework in Biology, unless I want to be up really late.

Tests … More Tests

I finally finished all of my tests… for this week at least. The chem test was not bad at all and the U.S. History test was also easy. I finally manged to register to vote! The young dems. had a table on the quad … even though I am not a dem. I was still able to sign up to vote. I am going home this weekend to get some Scuba gear, get a hair cut and see my dad and my uncle who just got back from England.

Exhausted

I am absolutely exhausted from scuba diving on Sunday. I recently began taking lessons with Emily Hoskins a fellow leader of the TGIF youth group for the Presbyterian Church. On a different note, there is going to be a big Chem test on Friday that is going to cover the last four chapters. Chem 111 is a fairly tough class and I am going to be up really late studying! There is also a Humanities exam today, but I feel pretty well prepared as I studied most of Saturday for it. I also need to register to vote. I think that the young Dems. are holding a registration drive on the quad; I need to stop by and get a form.

Hi, my name is David Shahbodaghi and I am a freshman this year at Muskingum. This blog will detail my activities, class, and life in general on campus. I am a Biology major with a minor in both History and Chemistry. I belong to several organizations on campus. (more info about those in my profile) As far as my classes, I am taking Chemistry 111, Biology 112, U.S. History 212, Humanities, and First year seminar. All of my classes are going great so fa I had my first Biology Exam last Friday, I hope I did well. Shelly Szalay is a great teacher.

Well that’s all for now I have to work on Chemistry.
